Services / AI Adoption Retainer
A standing relationship, aimed at one number.
A month-to-month AI adoption retainer for private equity, private credit, hedge fund and allocator firms in New York. Not a project with a deliverable. A standing relationship aimed at one number: how many people in your firm use these tools well. It is a different figure from license utilization, and usually a much lower one.
Ongoing
Month to month
A mark a month, running past the edge because it does not stop.
Month to month
Four things, every month.
Prompting practice across the whole employee base
Rather than the early adopters, who need it least and are already counted in every usage report you have.
Workflow design
For the processes where AI earns its place, and only for those.
Direct work with the teams who stalled
The people who tried it once and went back. They are the number, and they do not move on their own.
A plain monthly account of what changed
Written so somebody who was not in the room can read it.
Questions
What firms ask before they book it.
How long does the retainer run?
Month to month with no fixed term, because the number it is aimed at moves over months and stops moving when the work stops.
What number is the retainer aimed at?
How many people in the firm use these tools well, by desk, read monthly. It is a different figure from license utilization, and usually a much lower one.
Who in the firm does the retainer work with?
The whole employee base rather than the early adopters, and directly with the teams who tried the tools once and went back. Those teams are the number, and they do not move on their own.
Does the retainer cover an AI usage policy?
Yes. We write the one page that says what may go into the tools, what may not, and who decides the edge cases, in the words of the desk rather than the vendor's. It sits inside the firm's own data terms with its AI vendor, and the retainer keeps it current as the tools change.
Which AI tools does the retainer cover?
Whichever your firm has licensed. Most clients run Claude, ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot. We are an Anthropic partner, and the workflows we help clients build run on Claude, but the method is the same on any frontier model.
Ask what your number is.
Most firms know their license count and not their adoption. Tell us which tools your people have and what you believe they are doing with them, and we will tell you what we would look at first.
