Admins gain spend controls as Claude adds a finance beta.

What Anthropic shipped.

What changed: four Claude Code releases (v2.1.314, v2.1.316, v2.1.317 and v2.1.318) were mostly about control. They cover where Claude Code can write, which developers reach which upstream, and how spend is shared and reported. Anthropic's platform release notes also say text from Claude Mythos 5, Claude Opus 4.7 and Claude Sonnet 4.6 carries its text watermark, and Claude Marketplace now lists over 25 partner agents and products. Personal Finance sits on personal plans, so anyone at your firm with one of those plans in the US could connect their own accounts to it.

   Personal Finance beta

   Pro, Max and Ultra users in the US can link bank, credit card, loan and investment accounts and ask Claude about their own money. Anthropic says access is read-only and Personal Finance can't move, manage or invest money.

   Text watermark

   Anthropic's release notes say text from Claude Mythos 5, Claude Opus 4.7 and Claude Sonnet 4.6 carries its text watermark on the listed platforms. On Sonnet 4.6, a request that sets temperature, top_p or top_k to a non-default value might not carry it.

   Claude Marketplace additions

   New partner agents and products for security, developer infrastructure, creative and productivity work, including Chainguard and Checkmarx. Eligible enterprise customers can apply a portion of committed Anthropic spend to them.

   Gateway cost report

   GET /v1/organizations/analytics/cost reads past spend over a date range, in total, per developer, per day or per IdP group (v2.1.317).

   Pooled group budgets

   One monthly budget that a group's members share, on top of each member's own limit. It is set with pooled_budget on the spend limits admin API (v2.1.316).

   Writes stay in the project

   permissions.blockWritesOutsideWorkingDirectories makes Write, Edit and NotebookEdit refuse paths outside the working directories, in every permission mode (v2.1.314).

   Bedrock guardrail logging

   guardrail_trace logs which Amazon Bedrock guardrail filter fired on a request, without the matched text. guardrail.input_tagging adds the input tags the prompt attacks filter needs.

   Sign-in expiry warnings

   claude auth status and claude -p JSON results now show when a stored claude.ai sign-in ends. claude -p text output warns on stderr from 10 days before (v2.1.318).

Most of this week's items are for the people who run Claude Code across a firm: IT, platform teams and whoever owns the AI budget. Two items reach everyone: the watermark on generated text, and a consumer finance feature that the sources place on Pro, Max and Ultra plans in the US.

1. 01 · Pull last month's spend by group: If you run the Claude apps gateway, call GET /v1/organizations/analytics/cost for last month grouped by IdP group. Grouping relies on the daily IdP group record, which needs admin: set and is kept for admin.identity_retention_days.
2. 02 · Turn on the write guard in Claude Code: Add permissions.blockWritesOutsideWorkingDirectories to your Claude Code settings so Write, Edit and NotebookEdit stay inside the working directories. Update to v2.1.314 or later first.
3. 03 · Brief staff on Personal Finance: Tell people whether personal Claude plans with Personal Finance connected may be used for work. Mention that Anthropic says output from three models now carries a text watermark.
