Anthropic is rolling out Personal Finance in Claude, a read-only beta for Pro, Max and Ultra users in the US. It also added a cost report and pooled group budgets to the Claude apps gateway. For firms, the most useful item is the cost report: admins can now read past spend per developer, per day or per IdP group. What changed: four Claude Code releases (v2.1.314, v2.1.316, v2.1.317 and v2.1.318) were mostly about control. They cover where Claude Code can write, which developers reach which upstream, and how spend is shared and reported. Anthropic's platform release notes also say text from Claude Mythos 5, Claude Opus 4.7 and Claude Sonnet 4.6 carries its text watermark, and Claude Marketplace now lists over 25 partner agents and products. Personal Finance sits on personal plans, so anyone at your firm with one of those plans in the US could connect their own accounts to it. ### 1. Personal Finance beta 1\. Pro, Max and Ultra users in the US can link bank, credit card, loan and investment accounts and ask Claude about their own money. Anthropic says access is read-only and Personal Finance can't move, manage or invest money. ### 2. Text watermark 2\. Anthropic's release notes say text from Claude Mythos 5, Claude Opus 4.7 and Claude Sonnet 4.6 carries its text watermark on the listed platforms. On Sonnet 4.6, a request that sets temperature, top\_p or top\_k to a non-default value might not carry it. ### 3. Claude Marketplace additions 3\. New partner agents and products for security, developer infrastructure, creative and productivity work, including Chainguard and Checkmarx. Eligible enterprise customers can apply a portion of committed Anthropic spend to them. ### 4. Gateway cost report 4\. GET /v1/organizations/analytics/cost reads past spend over a date range, in total, per developer, per day or per IdP group (v2.1.317). ### 5. Pooled group budgets 5\. One monthly budget that a group's members share, on top of each member's own limit. It is set with pooled\_budget on the spend limits admin API (v2.1.316). ### 6. Writes stay in the project 6\. permissions.blockWritesOutsideWorkingDirectories makes Write, Edit and NotebookEdit refuse paths outside the working directories, in every permission mode (v2.1.314). ### 7. Bedrock guardrail logging 7\. guardrail\_trace logs which Amazon Bedrock guardrail filter fired on a request, without the matched text. guardrail.input\_tagging adds the input tags the prompt attacks filter needs. ### 8. Sign-in expiry warnings 8\. claude auth status and claude -p JSON results now show when a stored claude.ai sign-in ends. claude -p text output warns on stderr from 10 days before (v2.1.318). 02 · What it means ## What it means for _your_ seat. Most of this week's items are for the people who run Claude Code across a firm: IT, platform teams and whoever owns the AI budget. Two items reach everyone: the watermark on generated text, and a consumer finance feature that the sources place on Pro, Max and Ultra plans in the US. ### Leadership The new cost report means Claude Code spend can be read back per developer or per IdP group, which makes it possible to tie spend to teams. If your firm has an enterprise commitment with Anthropic, ask whether you are eligible to apply part of it to Claude Marketplace partner products, since Anthropic says eligible customers can. ### Risk and compliance Anthropic says text from Claude Mythos 5, Claude Opus 4.7 and Claude Sonnet 4.6 carries its text watermark, with an exception on Sonnet 4.6 for non-default sampling settings. Personal Finance lets users on Pro, Max and Ultra in the US link their own bank, card, loan and investment accounts, so decide whether your acceptable use policy says anything about personal plans used for work. On Bedrock upstreams, guardrail\_trace records which filter fired without logging the matched text. ### IT and engineering Set permissions.blockWritesOutsideWorkingDirectories so Claude Code cannot edit files outside the project it was opened in, in any permission mode. Agent SDK hooks can now use onFailure: "block" so a failed callback stops the action. Scripted jobs using claude -p, such as one that drafts a weekly status report, now expose credential\_expires\_at and warn 10 days before a stored sign-in ends. ### Enterprise admins The Claude apps gateway adds pooled group budgets, managed.policy\_mode: layered so every matching policy applies, and a groups list that routes only listed IdP groups to an upstream, on failover too. assume\_role on mantle upstreams supports a role in another AWS account and per-developer AWS cost attribution. OTel data now carries anthropic.plan, anthropic.seat\_type, anthropic.provider and anthropic.custom\_base\_url. 03 · This week ## What to do this week. 0 of 3 done 1. 01 · Pull last month's spend by group : If you run the Claude apps gateway, call GET /v1/organizations/analytics/cost for last month grouped by IdP group. Grouping relies on the daily IdP group record, which needs admin: set and is kept for admin.identity\_retention\_days. 2. 02 · Turn on the write guard in Claude Code : Add permissions.blockWritesOutsideWorkingDirectories to your Claude Code settings so Write, Edit and NotebookEdit stay inside the working directories. Update to v2.1.314 or later first. 3. 03 · Brief staff on Personal Finance : Tell people whether personal Claude plans with Personal Finance connected may be used for work.
