01 · What changed

## What Anthropic shipped.

Claude was already on Google Cloud through the Google managed offering, where Google is the data processor. This adds a second path: Anthropic operates the service, acts as the data processor and offers the full set of Claude Platform features. In practice, a firm that runs on Google Cloud can give its engineers the same Claude API they would get from Anthropic directly, using the IAM credentials it already manages. Usage appears on a single Google Cloud invoice and draws down the firm's existing Google Cloud commitment.

### 1. Full Claude Platform

1\. The full set of Claude API features, including Claude Managed Agents (beta), code execution, computer use, agent skills, the Files API, Citations, web search and fetch, and the MCP connector (beta). Prompt caching and batch processing are included.

### 2. Same-day features

2\. Anthropic says new features and betas ship the same day they go live on the native Claude Platform. New models ship on the offering as they launch.

### 3. Google Cloud IAM access

3\. It works with existing Google Cloud IAM credentials. Teams stay within the tools and permissions they already manage.

### 4. One Google Cloud invoice

4\. Billing runs through Google Cloud Marketplace on a single Google Cloud invoice. Claude usage draws down your existing Google Cloud commitment.

### 5. Claude Console included

5\. Customers get the Claude Console to write prompts, configure agents, run them on hosted environments and monitor usage and costs. Access and security are managed per workspace.

### 6. Current models

6\. Claude Fable 5.1, Opus 5.5, Sonnet 5.5 and Haiku 5.5 are available.

### 7. Fast mode on Opus 5.5

7\. Generally available on this offering. Anthropic says it offers up to 2.5x faster output token generation, at $8 input and $40 output per million tokens.

### 8. US and Global endpoints

8\. The Anthropic managed offering is currently available with US and Global endpoints.

Anthropic managed or Google managed

### Anthropic managed

Anthropic operates the service and acts as the data processor. Choose it when your teams want the full Claude Platform feature set through Google Cloud, with new features and betas on the same day they go live on the native Claude Platform.

### Google managed

Google is the data processor. Anthropic says it remains the better choice if you have strict regional data residency requirements or want native Google Cloud integrations such as Model Armor or Agent Engine.

02 · What it means

## What it means for _your_ seat.

A firm on Google Cloud now chooses between two ways to use Claude there. The main question is who processes the data: Anthropic in the new offering, Google in the existing one. The answer decides which features your teams get on day one and which data commitments your risk team has to review.

### Leadership

If your firm already has a Google Cloud commitment, Claude usage through the Anthropic managed offering draws it down and lands on the same invoice. That keeps a build, such as a cited first pass on credit agreements, inside a budget line you already have. Ask your technology lead which of the two Google Cloud paths fits your data policies before any build starts.

### Risk and compliance

In the Anthropic managed offering, Anthropic operates the service and acts as the data processor. In the Google managed offering, Google is the data processor, and Anthropic names it the better choice for strict regional data residency requirements. Review which processor your policies and investor commitments allow before data room or portfolio data goes through either path.

### IT and engineering

You get the native Claude API, the Claude Console and the full feature set, including prompt caching, batch processing and the Files API, with access controlled through Google Cloud IAM. Anthropic says native Google Cloud integrations such as Model Armor and Agent Engine are reasons to stay on the Google managed offering. Check the feature list in the documentation against what your builds use today.

### Finance and procurement

If your firm has an existing Anthropic or Google Cloud discount, Anthropic asks you to contact your account executive before starting on the Anthropic managed offering. Discounts cannot be applied retroactively to usage. Confirm how the usage will appear against your Google Cloud commitment before teams start building.

## What to do this week.

0 of 3 done

1. 01 · Decide who should process the data : Put the two paths in front of risk and compliance: Anthropic as data processor with full feature parity, or Google as data processor with regional residency and native Google Cloud integrations. Write down which one your firm's data policies allow.
2. 02 · Call your account executive about discounts : If you have an existing Anthropic or Google Cloud discount, contact your account executive before anyone starts using the Anthropic managed offering. Anthropic says discounts cannot be applied retroactively.
3. 03 · Map the features your builds need : List what each planned build relies on, such as Citations and the Files API for reading a credit agreement or prompt caching for a weekly status report. Check that list against the documentation for the offering you choose.
