What we are

By The People Technologies is a New York AI adoption consultancy for private equity, private credit, hedge fund, venture and allocator firms, with three engagements: prompt engineering workshops on a firm's own documents, a month-to-month AI adoption retainer, and forward deployed engineers embedded in investment teams.

The name is the argument

## Most AI programmes are done _to_ people.

The tools arrive, the training is a slide deck, and the people whose work is about to change are the last ones asked. Adoption stalls, and the tool takes the blame.

We start from the other end: the person doing the work, the judgment they already have, and what actually changes on a Tuesday morning. That is the whole reason for the name.

By The People Technologies maintains a deliberately flat reporting structure. The people who scope an engagement are the same people who deliver it, from the first conversation to the last day on site.

Our engineers and engagement staff are part of the same small team, and you will know everyone who works on your account.

Tim Miner founded By The People Technologies after leadership roles at Salesforce, IBM, and Tact.ai. He has personally delivered over 100 prompt engineering workshops to investment and operations professionals across financial services, and he sets the standard for every client engagement. He is a Visiting Professor at Rutgers University, Columbia University and Pratt Institute, where he teaches how to build AI into design thinking.

How an engagement runs

## Learn the work. Redesign it. Hand it over.

### 1. We learn the work

First. We sit with the people who do it and document how it actually runs: where it waits, where information is re-entered, and which decisions require human judgment.

### 2. We redesign it with your team

Then. We identify where AI adds the most value and design the process around it. Your team builds the Claude skills, agents, and workflow with our guidance, and the human in the loop is defined at every point that requires judgment.

### 3. It is yours to run

Ongoing. Your people own the process, the judgment behind it, and the ability to change it. The next process change is one they can evaluate themselves.
